Starting a conversation…

I remember my first day of blogging when no one is reading my blog. This world is completely unknown to me.

Diamond collection of likes

I was so happy, so excited and overwhelmed with joy when I got the first like. It seems like, getting every like means adding a diamond to my collection. Christian Mihai at Art of Blogging was my first follower.

I was very happy. And continuously checking different parts of the WordPress Android application. This is my habit, if you give me something, I will start checking it. I’ll observe the look, the shape, the size and think deeply about what may be the use of this particular object.

I don’t know how to write a blog post. Although, to understand it, I visited a few blogs before downloading WordPress.

I was so saturated at one point that I was not using any tags in my post, I was writing only 100 to 150 words. Even, I have not touched anything except the paragraph feature of the block editor.

My life was very happy when I have just 2-3 followers. One of them was Jahnvi Sharma at The Travelsio. She has started her new blog for the second time. She is special to me because of her kindness and support she shares with her every reader.

And there is BinnzyTheWriter, a young poet. He writes poems based on mental illness because of the lockdown in London where he lives. This guy has told me to respect the writer and his/her writing when I desperately asked him why people are not reading my work.

Some great learning from learning, “ we can only give so much”.

Confused about reader’s response

I was completely amazed and confused to see some posts are liked hundreds and thousands of time and some have “ zero” likes.

I got amazed because posts with no likes and comments are too much in numbers.

Then I found Gottfried at banterrepublic. This guy was doing a great job. Suddenly, he made me fall in love with his work because his posts are too funny. Some words are new to me but this guy has won my heart. Because he gained the potential, skills and strong communication skills. I read his posts and gave a huge laugh.

I also found PoojaG at Lifesfinewhine. Her name caught my attention because Puja is my sister’s. It is a common name, used for girls in India.

PoojaG has just returned to her blog because her site went down or there may be some technical issues. Now, I can see a lot of user engagement on her blog. When I first saw her blog there were no or a few likes but a lot of comments.

This is another feature, I observed that some blogs are getting too many comments but no likes. The opposite is also true, blogs are getting hundreds of likes but 2 – 5 comments.

Yes, I got finally 10 followers. I usually recognise digits and not numbers.

10 = 2 digit followers

On 10 followers I wrote a post, headline: Zero to 10, it is the Gondwanaland. Thank you so much, I showed my gratitude towards my readers.

It is something like your online company have got 10 investors. I understand the fact that this journey is going to be a marathon and not 100m. race. I’m not good at both of them but I’ll choose the marathon. A long Journey seems more interesting and adventurous than a 30 min. ride.

Today also I believe in a long journey. I’m rushing nowhere. I’m always here.

Starting a conversation

Today is Thursday, as per my schedule I have to write a post on current issues and changes in the blogging world. Starting a conversation is our need. It is the main issue which many beginner bloggers ignore.

I don’t believe in posting too many posts in a day or continuously procrastinating a lot. I choose a middle and balanced path.

Sorry, if I am not reading your posts. I’ll try to read them as soon as possible. Also if there is an emergency issue or you need help, simply email me (visit my contact page).

Last but not least, I request readers and bloggers to understand each other. Have a faith in each other.

Bloggers try to give their best and focus on the quality of content. Blogs repeating the same words seem boring and hard to read. Do not spread hate against any person, community or country. As a blogger, we have done responsibilities and limits too. We have to work under it.

Readers should be patient, curious and try to encourage the blogger. Because they put a lot of hard work into a blog. We have a lot of valuable content free available, why can’t we use it? Readers should connect themselves with a trustable blogger and be a part of his/her journey. Your life will also change with them.

Most of us are a reader and blogger, both. We are also part of our family, society and of course, our great countries. Try to do something good, something relevant. Together we can make a better world.

The Gondwanaland is committed to producing high-quality original content. We believe in starting a conversation and supporting each other. Here, you all get poems, stories, life, self-help related content and worthy blogging tips. We believe in building relationships. And also a little ( & fair ) give and take. Be a good reader and we’ll try our best to give you the best.

Like my work, comment on your views and follow The Gondwanaland.

  1. I don’t care much about the likes, because many of my readers don’t get the option of liking because of the ad-blockers installed. I love their feedbacks though, which they give whenever I share my blog with them.
Also, you are one of my favourite readers!

  2. Hm, patience. Patience and Tega are two different people. Tega isn’t patient and she has learnt that now.

I can totally relate! Starting a blog all pumped up as you await followers comes with a lot of thoughts and factors. It was hard for me too. And then, someone here on this site told me to continue and things will fall in place. Although I haven’t been so regular, I still feel positive and happy to do what I love. I see that’s what you love too.

Yeah! Pooja and Gottfried are so cool. They are amazing bloggers. I follow all their writings and pick out a piece or almost the whole information penned down. I see what Pooja does on Instagram and they are jaw breaking!

You’ve caught my attention too, Loku!

  3. I think you got it right: “I choose a middle and balanced path.” The middle path is a good path to be on. Good post for bloggers to read, who are just starting out. And, it reminds me how I had to learn on the fly when starting years ago.

    1. There is always an opportunity to start or restart our life. We have to be strong. I hope people can find a reflection of their dreams in my words. Thank you so much, Benjamin.

      1. I think you’re right. You can always restart until you can’t. It’s something I need to remember. Thanks so much for reminding me. I think your words are resonating with many. 🙂

      2. I’m not a perfect person. I write some posts to motivate myself.

Restarting your life is very hard sometimes when you went through mental illnesses. But we have to move. We can’t sit in a place, feeling miserable and cursing our life.

      3. You’re write. And I think it’s not about being perfect, but more about the journey of striving for perfection. And likewise, you have good perspective on things. That’s important. You are rooted in the right things.

  4. Wow you remembered and mentioned everything from scratch 👏👏👏👏❤❤❤
I am not that an expert in blogging but the important thing I learned in this blogosphere is to interact, communicate with fellow bloggers it is really beneficial!!!! I have seen many of my followers with good content but having a very low engagement just because they do not interact at all!!!!! I want to tell them but I am just afraid if this will offend them or anything, so I just wish they read this article, as it is very well written and is helpful ❤❤👏👏👏

  5. “I remember my first day of blogging when no one is reading my blog. This world is completely unknown to me.”……I definitely can remember my first day, my blog looked so miserable😂😂

“Gottfried”….he is a genius and would grab anyone’s attention with his words🤝🏼….it seems like you got into my head

I love your blog and your content and I’m amazed I didn’t find you so Early till now or did you find me?
In my opinion(just like I always say), I really Care about my likes and comments…both are indispensable when growing your blog and I sure can remember crying because I was loosing likes on my blog but that’s by the way…
The major headline is that they wont be blogs without bloggers, we all need to support ourselves (I mean wordpress wont rip off your fingers if you like a post or comment)….you may regard your comment as an insignificant factor but to the blogger, its a great contribution to him. I wouldn’t want to write much coz much has been written.

Its a wonderful post. Keep up the good work. I’m always here to support❤

    1. In the last line, you said, I used to repeat it a lot — “ I’m always here to support you ”.

Lucky to have you, Anna. I don’t what is the future of this blog. I have so many thoughts and I want to just write…write…and write. It is gonna be interesting to know how my mind is going to reacts about / against things happening around me.

I challenge it to give me the best product. There is a person inside me who don’t believe in following, rather, creating his own way of writing and representing himself.

      LEARN THE WAY YOU WRITE

      Truth survives,
      lies disappear.

      Words are stronger,
      stronger than weapons.
      Weapons destroy houses,
      words build a relationship.

The world might end one day,
I have to shine that day.
Spreading a new light on life,
      creating the earth as
      it was before.

      People are violent,
      angry and frustrated.
They have lost hope to live,
I will teach them the way of life.

A teacher is better than a murderer.

      No age, no religion,
      no recognition which breaks us.
      Lovely those stories,
      which my forefathers told me,
“ Love ” is the word
      we feel for each other.

      Learn the way you write,
learn the way you raise your voice,
learn the way you forgive misdeeds,
Learn the way you recognise, build and represent yourself.

      — We stand for humans,
      We stand for humanity.

      1. I really love what you’re are doing for your viewers…they are wonderfully lucky to grab a dose of this every time you post. I love bloggers, I love blogging and I would scream on top of my voice if I had to do it.

Humanity isn’t hopeless after all. The Gondwanaland won’t let that happen and I give you my full support.

      1. No its called Halo. Its because these aliens called the covenant have a planet destroying weapon called halo. They aim to destroy earth with it.

    1. As you wish.

For me gaining the potential to get likes is important. I haven’t tried much to get likes. If I stop here it means I never tried to be liked by my readers. Also, likes come on quality of works. I know how much likes my work deserve.
      There are other prospects also.

  7. I really do like reading your blogs! Also I can totally relate to the start of your blogging journey as I am currently always checking the wordpress app for likes, views and comment, I know that I probably shouldn’t and when I received my first like and follower I experienced a rush of excitement and started smiling continuously, it gave me pride and inspiration to write.

      1. Also, everything that I do write, is from my own mind, and if you think you have read my post somewhere else, kindly please attach a link to it too because it is unnecessarily hurtful to recieve a comment like that after putting hours into it as it is. I did not approve your comment because I would like to avoid that negativity on my blog.
